ok. first up.

happy new year everyone. hopefully you all had a great festive season.

last night i caught up with a very good friend of mine.
other friends of mine had suggested it was a date,
when i knew it was just catching up.
it had been a stretch of about 4 months (we worked this out last night)
dinner, movies and chatting was the agreed format.

to be honest. the burger was awesome. summer sunset
from grill'd at highpoint was great.
we were chatting and catching up on new happenings in our lives.
then came time for the movie.
My choice apparently because it was my birthday hangout.
Out of Ben Button, Twilight, Yes Man; we went with Yes Man,
expecting a movie that was funny with no real plot line.
just like we had months earlier when we went to see Pineapple Express.

Turns out we were wrong. and im glad we were.
Jim Carrey plays a guy that says no to everything when he attends
a seminar of saying yes to everything.
Turns out everything goes well for him....
...because he says yes to everything.

ive decided that this year i will be more open to things outside my usual reality
ive decided that this year things will go slower than they usually go for me...
ive decided that this year will be the Year of Jimmy Mk II since Mk I started so late.

for those that dont know Year of Jimmy Mk I was a creation of ours
to suggest that last year was going to be my year.
I decided we'll extend it and take every opportunity that comes my way.
even maybe create some.

well so it goes. 2008 is almost over.
just over 24 hrs to go.

overall best year of uni out of the 3 so far in terms of results. =D'
and not only results. i met so many awesome people that i will know for the rest of my life its awesome.

yes i said another two in last years blog (on myspace). but its another two from now.
i'm taking a break from a full load and taking on part time study.
then ill be a qualified educator.

work. or should i say works.
lol this year saw me join the awesome as staff at CRC Melton.
i fit it in with uni, and kmart and its the best thing i've ever done.
met a totally different side to people that i'd known, and met a whole lot of people.
who are awesome. =D

kids still freak out when they see me behind the counter at kmart though.
christmas at kmart was busy but the customers seemed nicer this year.
maybe a $1000 cash infusion helped that. thanks kev.
sound & vis is awesome by the way.

cricket. well due to work haven't been playing as much as i'd like to have.
but while the runs aren't coming, wickets have been falling.
was named best clubman season 07/08.
hardly there due to work even though im secretary.

that domestic holiday id planned last year. still hasnt happened.
and doesnt look like happening any time soon.

believe it or not. got out of that middle place.
but now im back in it. and much deeper than last time.
but dont worry im not doing anything drastic.

my 21st happened. and was awesome.
but once again i fucked up speeches.
like the acceptance of best clubman.
so i'll make it right now.

to my parents, you guys are awesome. thanks for the party.
to the uni guys and gals, you have made this last year so much more fun,
and have no idea what it means to me to have known you all.
to the cricket boys, sorry i haven't had a lot of time on the field this year, but when i have
ive made a difference. see cam, it doesn't hurt to bowl me.
to the kmart krew....you guys are the bomb. i'm extremely lucky to have worked with such a great group of people

looking towards a house and holiday now.
i've definitely got the holiday paid for....i think.
not that its booked yet. or know when i'm gonna fit it in.
now to start saving for the house.
will definitely have to make some sacrifices this year.

as for a new years resolution, i have two:

• be more open with people, in regards to my feelings towards them
  
• start working out.
  

the first stems from the fact that i have sat on my feelings for too long, and often lost out.
the second stems from when i was the "biggest" guy at a friends pool party.
i'm not the biggest guy in the world. but still not exactly happy with myself.
to be honest, the regime will start tomorrow.

Introduction

well. this is me. starting a blog.

i've blogged on myspace before. but i thought i'd start here.

so you know from the outset.
this will be a blog where i just blog what i think.
basically it will be:

• where i get things off my chest,
  
• post some opinion, or
  
• just vent.

you'll probably notice that i haven't used capital letters. but i will use correct grammar and spelling.

i'll introduce myself though.

my name is james.
im 21.
i live in rockbank, victoria, australia, with my parents, brother & sister.
i'm currently studying science/science education @ latrobe bundoora, where my major is in statistics.
i work two jobs: the first in retail at a local department store (5yrs and counting), as well as in IT support at a local secondary school (just over a year now).

that is all for my introduction. there might be a summary of the year just gone coming a bit later today. i'll see how i go.
